Daily Stretching for Less Stress (and More Body Love)

The average person spends over nine hours a day hunched over a screen. It makes sense - a lot of jobs are computer-based. Our phones are sources of pure entertainment and they’re always right there. Looking down constantly has become normal, and, unfortunately, it wreaks havoc on posture. What are the consequences of bad posture? Headaches. Poor sleep. General grumpiness. Poor body image. Pain. Overactive and underactive muscles, which lead to poor form while exercising which lead to injury.

So, yeah, spending a good portion of the day hunched over isn’t great. How do we fix it? We stretch!

Below are a few simple stretches that, when done daily, can greatly improve quality of life. Remember that, like anything, the improvement does not happen right away. It will take a few weeks for you to start seeing any change. But take a break every day to do these and feel awesome about your accomplishment.

DAILY STRETCHING ROUTINE:

Hold each stretch for 15-20 seconds and breath deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth!
